A commitment to restoring the dignity of persons at the local level.
ABOUT US
Project Genesis 1:31’s Compassion Care Initiative is dedicated to embodying the Christian principle of “love thy neighbor” by restoring dignity and hope to underserved communities. We believe every person, regardless of background or circumstance, possesses inherent worth and deserves to be treated with compassion and respect.
Inspired by Genesis 18:25, we are committed to uplifting those often overlooked or marginalized by society, including the incarcerated, elderly, abandoned and orphaned children, homeless, and at-risk youth. Our mission is to foster meaningful relationships, provide essential support, and advocate for policies that empower individuals and families.
We champion a society where human dignity is paramount, advocating for the protection of the unborn and the rights of parents to educate their children according to their beliefs. We believe in limited government and local empowerment to address societal challenges effectively. By integrating faith-based principles, we strive to create a more just and compassionate world for all.
Care for the elderly
We believe every senior deserves to live their golden years with dignity, respect, and a sense of community.
In underserved neighborhoods, we bridge the gap by providing essential supplies like food and water to our elderly in need. But our care goes beyond the essentials.
Through our dedicated volunteer companionship programs: We combat loneliness, foster meaningful connections, and brighten the lives of our elderly neighbors. Our goal is to ensure they feel valued, supported, and empowered to thrive in their own lives.
How we help
- Companionship: Visiting our elderly, and engaging them in persons to person socializing.
- Resources: For elderly facing resource poverty, we deliver essential goods they need.
Care for the homeless
Treating those experiencing homelessness with the dignity and respect they deserve, recognizing the inherent worth of every human being.
This goes beyond providing essential supplies. We offer a helping hand, a listening ear, and a reminder that they are not alone. Our goal is to empower them to rebuild their lives and rediscover hope and faith for a brighter future.
How we help
- Servicing: Connecting those experiencing homelessness with services for them around the city.
- Fellowship: Building and maintaining a rapport with our friends on the streets, inviting them to mass, offering a listening ear, and restoring their connection with their fellow community members.
Care for at risk youth
We reach out to at-risk youth, teen moms, and orphaned children, offering them a safe space and a supportive community.
For at-risk youth: We provide mentoring programs, educational resources, and positive outlets to help them navigate challenges and build a brighter future.
For teen moms: We offer support groups, childcare assistance, and skills-building opportunities to empower them on their motherhood journey.
For orphaned children: We create a loving environment filled with activities, guidance, and a sense of belonging to help them heal and thrive.
Through engaging community activities: We foster connections, build self-esteem, and equip them with the tools they need to not only overcome obstacles but also positively impact their communities.
How we help
- Support: Person to person guardianship for teen moms, and at risk youth.
- Engagement: engaging youth through fun activities such as field trips, sports, games and learning opportunities.
Care for the incarcerated
We extend our mission of love and dignity to incarcerated individuals, especially those abandoned by society and imprisoned for petty, low-level crimes. Our dedicated volunteers visit county jails to minister to and support these individuals, offering them hope, compassion, and spiritual guidance.
We believe in recognizing the humanity and worth of every person, regardless of their past, and strive to provide a sense of community and care to those who need it most. Through our jail ministry, we aim to bring light into the lives of the incarcerated, reaffirming that they are not forgotten and are worthy of compassion and redemption.
How we help
- Ministry: Engaging incarcerated men and women in bible study, and sermons for encouragement and growth in faith and hope.
- Fellowship: Visiting incarcerated individuals, and offering a listening ear to those experiencing loneliness and isolation.
“And God saw all that he had made, and it was very good.”
